UPDATE: BOEM Announces 7/17 Outer Cape Public Meeting After Truro Asks for Public Comment Period Extension and Local Public Meetings
Update (7/12/24): An information session where the public can provide input will be held locally at Four Points by Sheraton in Eastham after the Select Board requested local public meetings in its June 28, 2024 public comment submitted to the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM).
The Massachusetts Office of Coastal Zone Management and the Division of Marine Fisheries are hosting a public information session with BOEM on the proposed offshore wind leasing activities in the Gulf of Maine.

At this information session BOEM will share information on the proposed Gulf of Maine leasing activities, including the recently published PSN and Draft Environmental Assessment (Draft EA). Members of the public will be able to provide input.

The Town of Truro issued a public comment on June 28, 2024 to the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) regarding the Gulf of Maine Offshore Wind Area Proposed Sale Notice and the Draft Environmental Assessment urging BOEM to take two important measures:
1) extend the public comment period by 90 days for both the Proposed Sale Notice and the Draft Environmental Assessment and
2) hold at least two “open-house” style meetings on the Outer Cape to allow the public to talk with BOEM’s scientists and other personnel, was done in Portland, ME, Portsmouth, NH, and Danvers, MA.
