2025 Annual Town Meeting Updates
The Town of Truro’s Annual Town Meeting will take place on Saturday, May 3 at 10:00 am under a tent at the Truro Central School (TCS) ballfield. Check-in at TCS will begin at 8:30 am.
Parking Guidance
Parking spots at TCS will be reserved for individuals requiring close proximity parking. The remaining parking spots at TCS will be open to community members on a first come/first served basis. As a courtesy and safety measure, offsite parking is available at Savory and Whitman House Restaurant, thanks to the generous support of our local businesses. Public safety officials will be available at the designated parking locations to help direct traffic. Satellite parking will not be available at Head of the Meadow this year. Carpooling and biking are encouraged. Bike racks are available at TCS.
The MA Department of Transportation has advised that parking on State Highway Route 6 is prohibited unless otherwise posted per the Code of MA Regulations (CMR):
720 CMR 9.03(2) – No person shall stop, stand, or park a vehicle upon any State Highway except as otherwise provided in 720 CMR 9.03(3).
720 CMR 9.03(3) – No person shall park a vehicle upon any state highway for a period of time longer than that specified upon official signs erected within the area.
State Highway parking is only permitted in locations where there are posted parking signs. Attendees who park in prohibited areas on State Highway Route 6 do so at their own risk.
Basic Needs
Your basic needs are important to us to make sure you are as comfortable as possible at Town Meeting. Please bring your refillable water bottle, medication, and blanket or cushion for your seat if you choose; dress in layers; and make sure your electronic devices are charged. Portable bathroom facilities will be available outside at Town Meeting. The indoor bathroom facilities will not be available at TCS for the duration of Town Meeting.
Non-Voter Check-in
Non-voters should check-in at the designated table and will be seated in a section that is separate from voters.
